There are ways to force resolution and mess with frame dips on tv's, but it is to much of a hassle and noticeable lag is found from the frame data. Melee's native resolution is 480p which is not a resolution that LED's are usually set to these days. Most CRT's run at a native resolution which for the most part, cannot be changed between cable settings. Depending on your skill level, Casual to comp, if you are more of the competitive side, I definitely recommend you get a CRT to avoid lag between dash frames and cancelling problems. Most people would agree that playing melee on a CRT is probably the best option because it avoids a large amount of tinkering with settings and getting the right components to get melee to not lag on an LED.
